With the increase of Elvis impersonators a large number of events, festivals and contests are organized attracting thousands of fans hopeful in making it into the industry already jam-packed with thousands of look-alikes. There is no requirement for an artist to be young and white in fact there are Mexican Elvii (plural of Elvis), Greek, Jewish, Chinese and Sikh Elvii. These artists go on experimenting with gender, sexuality, race, taste and decency. These artists have a belief that 'true' impersonators are those who do this to spread the message of the King and not for monetary factors and that they are chosen by the king himself as his missionaries to continue his work.
