I hate forums with a zillion rules that don't allow members to have much freedom so I have just a few rules for you all to live by.
Flaming
We have a section for this. If someone here gets you upset, don't flame in the thread. Bring your arguing to this section. Also, don't make a thread to start shit with someone just because you're bored. Make the argument something worth making an actual thread about, not some boring shit that will get a response or two.
I don't care if you flame via private messages. If someone complains that they keep getting flamed via PM, I wont do anything because if it bothers you that much, don't respond back to them or put them on ignore. The feature is there so use it.
Swearing
I chose not to censor anything because I don't care if people swear. Just make sure it isn't a regular habit to the point where your entire posts have a swear word as every other word. If that happens, you'll get a warning about it and if you choose to ignore the warning, you'll be banned. Someone who has swear words consuming all of their thoughts obviously doesn't bring anything intelligent to a conversation so you wont be needed.
Multiple Accounts
I have no idea why the hell people decide to make an alt account. Don't make a bunch of accounts just to pretend you have e-friends. If you want a name change, you can always do it yourself or ask a mod/admin to do it for you. This is why we want people to choose the name they really want when they register.
If you are banned, you are obviously not wanted here so don't attempt to make a new account. All alt accounts will be banned, no questions asked.
Forum Links
I don't care if you have a forum and put the link in your sig but posting it in general is not allowed. I know it is hard to get members but if people are interested, they will click the link in your sig. I don't need people joining this forum just to promote their own forum. It's hard enough to keep people around.
Mod/Admin Treatment
We're here to keep the forum in order. If you are warned about something, just comply with it and move on. Don't start this shitty whining just because you broke a rule and got caught over something that is clearly listed here as against the rules.
Mods and admins are allowed to be flamed. We aren't better than you an aren't untouchable so you wont be punished for flaming a mod or admin IN THE FLAMING SECTION. Anywhere else and you'll get the same punishment anyone who flames outside that section gets.
Signature Sizes
Not really picky on the size but I want people to use their smarts to know when a sig is way too big. One that takes up half a page = TOO BIG. Please limit it to one sig. I hate scrolling past a crapload of sigs just to get to the next post.
Spam
I made a spam section because I know people sometimes just want to post random thoughts off the top of their heads. Spam wont be tolerated in other sections. If you can't contribute and post longer than "yes/no" or "I agree/disagree" than don't post anything. You don't have to type up a huge paragraph but at least try to put a small explaination behind your answer.
Racism/Sexism/Homophobia
ALL UNACCEPTABLE. We welcome people here with open arms. I wont tolerate anything that falls under these categories. Making fun of someone because of their sexual preference, skin colour or gender wont be allowed here at all and will result in an instant ban.
That's pretty much it. Just post and have fun. |
